Partnership

We want everyone who is becoming part of SCF to feel a sense of belonging, so we interpret what most churches call membership rather as ‘Partnership’. In the context of contemporary culture, it seems that the term ‘member’ is used in all sorts of ways that no longer really express the values that first century Christians treasured so much. We have therefore chosen the term ‘Church Partnership’ to illustrate our relationship together of belonging, sharing responsibility and participating in a living, growing Church. The term ‘Partnership’ is applied very well by the writer to the Hebrews: "Consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing but let us encourage one another ... " [Heb10v24,25] The Apostle Paul also taught Christian believers about partnership [Philippians 1v5] and demonstrated a real sense of care towards the people he loved and lead. We want to live our Christian lives to be just like.
